During this time of self-quarantine, it’s so easy to feel isolated. Historically, most people simply text each other but with the inability to hang out, we have to think a bit differently. Instead of texting try and use virtual communication either through your phone or through your computer.

Be sure to set boundaries with the people with whom you speak and agree on which topics are ok to discuss and which topics are not ok to discuss. The purpose of these virtual chats is to try and normalize things as opposed to a place where you can cause each other additional worry.

I’m going to be having a virtual happy hour with friends. I will be in a group video chat with friends I’ve not seen in a while. We are going to focus on what is going well in our lives and the goals we have for when our lives resume.
