In a previous YouTube episode and magazine article, I described the 4 categories of people in your life. In Social Psychology we teach that there’s really only 1 out of 4 people who will support you unconditionally. The other 3 individuals, at different levels, won’t support you.
If we correlate these same statistics for entrepreneurs and for people who are excited for a career or business change you’ll find that only 1 out of 4 people will encourage and support you. This also relates to companies who may finance you or refer you to another company who can help fund you.
If you find that you are emotionally and mentally stuck focusing on the individuals and companies who aren’t supporting, encouraging, or giving you the break you need, then realize that you are investing too much energy in those 3 categories. Unfortunately, you are never going to change their mind. Let those people go and focus on those who want to help you succeed in your business.
