Anytime you have a spike in your emotions you are more than likely not experiencing patience. We always have a chance to practice this virtue, but often we get lost in our perception and don’t realize that we are lacking in patience. Driving a car, it is easy to become agitated and frustrated when someone cuts us off. Or, if your children are not cleaning their room like you’ve asked them. There is always an opportunity to learn and practice patience. If we stopped for a moment and recognized that patience is the answer to most of our daily interactions we would live a stress free life.
I challenge you today to be aware of your emotions and your breathing. If you recognize that you are slightly overreacting then it means you are not practicing patience in that moment.
