Life happens to all of us. When we reflect on the major instances from our past it’s important to look at the lessons we learned. When you compare those lessons with your current life, did you actually learn the lesson or forget about it? When you respond differently you get a different outcome. Remember, just because you can respond the way you always do doesn’t mean you should.

At the age of 16, Russell Phillips decided to try drugs for the first time. It was a decision that would forever alter the course of his life. Over the next 18 years, his life would continue to spiral out of control, until ultimately, in 2014, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for distributing cocaine. Now he’s changing the discussion on addiction and fighting for young people. His story has become an inspiration to many because he dared to dream beyond those prison walls, and beyond the stigma of addiction; not allowing his past or what others thought of him to define him, and because he has the courage to share his story – unfiltered.
